Personal Preference Program (PPP)

The Personal Preference Program lets a New Jersey Medicaid (NJ FamilyCare) member who is approved for Personal Care Assistant (PCA) services manage those services themselves. Instead of an agency sending an aide, the member gets a monthly budget based on their approved PCA hours and uses it to hire their own worker, who can be a relative, friend or neighbor. A fiscal intermediary runs payroll and pays the worker.
